We hope everyone is safe and healthy. The governor of Virginia has said that the state can begin reopening this Friday (May 29th). Please keep in mind that this is NOT a full re-opening. This is phase one and there are some stipulations in place to help keep everyone safe.
Some notable regulations put in place are:
- Face masks will be required in public places
- Retail establishment may operate at 50% capacity
- Restaurant and beverage establishments may offer outdoor dining at 50% occupancy
- Personal grooming services may operate with one patron per service provider
- Fitness centers may offer outdoor exercise services
- Campgrounds may begin taking reservations for short-term stays
- Drive-in services may continue at places of worship, and services may be held inside at 50 percent capacity

Patient safety is our #1 priority
The demographic we serve is one of the most vulnerable to diseases such as COVID-19.
While masks may be helpful, the best way to protect yourself is still to limit exposure by staying home and practicing proper social distancing. We are here to help in any way that we can and will do our best to accommodate the needs of our clients. It’s important for our clients to take proper precautions as recommended by their physicians.
Hope Home Care has remained operational under the guidance provided by the state of Virginia. We are working closely with state authorities to make sure that we are able to provide services in a safe manner.
So far we have provided cloth face masks, hand sanitizer, gloves and KN95 masks for our caregivers. The biggest hurdle we are facing is the shortage of supplies. As we have stated before, although we are a healthcare organization, we are prioritized differently than medical service providers such as doctors and hospitals.
While there is a shortage, Hope Home Care had decided that we will only provide supplies from official sources. We believe this is the best way to ensure that the equipment we receive works and is safe for use. Due to the shortage we will continue to use the cloth face masks daily as recommended by the CDC and the governor of Virginia. The KN95 masks will be reserved for emergency purposes only as they are most effective for single use. While hand sanitizer is being provided, it is not a substitute for washing hands.
We are working hard to make sure everything is working smoothly and will continue to provide updates as we receive them.
