EVV is live!

This is just a friendly reminder that as of today (09/01/2020), Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) is required by Virginia DMAS for personal care and respite care services. Prior to today there was some leniency provided regarding clocking in and out, however starting today, the time and location recorded by our EVV system will be considered as the official record. If there is any discrepancy regarding the information the EVV system records, the shift will be considered invalid. This is why it’s important that caregivers clock in and out properly. If there is any issue with the app, caregivers are encouraged to call the telephony number and clock in using their PIN.

Ultimately, EVV was put in for patients protection and has many useful features for the caregiver as well. At this time, the DMAS-90 form (timesheet) is still required. There is a method to eliminate the need for the timesheets that requires more information on a daily basis (a form similar to the DMAS-90). However the feedback provided by caregivers has indicated to us that this system takes too long. To help ensure the ease of use, this method is turned off by default and only the information that is absolutely required by the state of Virginia is recorded. If you are interested in inquiring about the steps required to eliminate the use of timesheets, please contact the office and we can help set it up.

We understand that change can be frustrating, but we are here to help. It is crucial that caregivers and family members reach out to our main office at 703-359-4673 with any questions, concerns or issues.
