Your health and safety is our #1 priority. Typically gloves and masks are not required for home care settings. However, as a proactive measure, we working with medical supplies companies to get gloves and masks out ASAP. Currently, facilities such as hospitals and physicians have a higher priority. We will provide them as soon as they are available.

Proper glove use:

Gloves are not a substitute for proper hand hygiene. Gloves should only be used during direct patient contact, and should NOT be reused.

Proper mask use:

N95 masks will be re-used as per guideline due to the shortage of medical supplies. We are also working on providing covers for the N95 masks to help with prolong use. Masks are only effective if used properly.

*Please note that a mask is not necessary unless symptoms are shown, these will be provided as a precautionary measure*

Testing for COVID-19:
Currently, testing is being reserved for people that have symptoms. The State of Virginia is working with insurance companies to waive fees and co-pays related to Coronavirus testing and treatment. If you have any symptoms, you should contact your doctor and get tested immediately.

If you or the patient are showing symptoms, you must get tested immediately. Wearing a mask does not guarantee that you won’t get sick. You should only wear a mask when you have the potential for exposure. Wearing a mask for extended use can be very difficult, if you experience any difficulties, limit mask use.  For regular use, you may cover your face by other means.

It is important to practice proper hygiene. Gloves and masks are not a substitute for proper hygiene.

Masks:
– One mask per person, DO NOT SHARE MASKS.
– Make sure you have a proper seal.
– Store in a clean area between reusing.
– Sanitize storage container in between uses.
– Wash hands and use clean gloves when putting the mask on or adjusting.
– Mask should be discarded if it is damaged or contaminated.

Gloves:
– Only use gloves when necessary.
DO NOT REUSE GLOVES.
– You should discard gloves in between patient contact.
– You should wash hands properly before and after wearing the gloves.

In addition, please follow these precautions:
– Limit exposure by staying indoors unless necessary
– Limit instances of touching face
– If you need to cough/sneeze, sneeze or cough into the elbow.
– If you have a persistent cough or other symptoms of COVID-19, please schedule an appointment with your doctor immediately.
