A lot of people started to get back to work today after our recent snow storm. Today I personally witnessed 3 people fall while getting their cars ready for the morning commute. I almost fell twice cleaning the car and once while I was walking into our office building.
Even though a lot of the snow looks like its starting to melt, we have to be careful and watch out for ice -especially in the morning and night. If you don’t have to be outside, you shouldn’t. If you’re with someone that’s elderly, you should be extra cautious and watch their balance. If you must go outside, then please stay warm and make sure your loved ones are too (it was 21 degrees this morning!).
Tips:
- Make sure you have proper footwear
- You should only wear footwear with ample grip and traction.
- Maintain your walk ways
- You should make sure that your entire walkway is clear of any ice, snow or any obstacles.
- Keep a look out
- Keep an eye out in advance to identify possible hazards.
- Stay focused
- Give your undivided attention to what you’re doing. (You shouldn’t be on your phone).
Stay safe!
